In 1957, a young man named Tal Anderson started washing cars at the Johnny Baxter Plymouth dealership in Omaha. He fell in love with the business, worked his way up to salesperson and eventually bought the dealership when Johnny Baxter retired in 1983. Tal’s secret? Putting people first – employees, guests, partners and the community. That philosophy turned one Omaha dealership into Baxter Auto Group: 19 dealerships across four states, eight brands and a spot among the top 40 automotive groups in the nation. We’re also the only automotive retailer in the continental U.S. to be recognized as a U.S. Best Managed Company by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal.
